Colour Accessibility

少し前に勤務先で話題になったというか自分が紹介したのですけど、『Colour Accessibility』という本が出版されていたのを知り、値段の安さ（Paypalで支払ったら、そのときのレートでたった318円）に惹かれて買ってみました。でまぁ実際、色のアクセシビリティに特化しているだけにさほど分量も無かったわけですが（PDFで89ページ）、今朝がたさくっと読了。コンパクトに要点がまとまっているし、読みやすかったので完全に元は取れた感があります。以下、気になったところのなかから何点かピックアップ：

色は絶対じゃない、とは頭では分かっていても、なかなか日常的にはそうは思えなかったり。

そういえば宇宙飛行士はどうなんでしょうね。視力検査はあったと思うけど、色覚異常は？

まさか同じ日本人が生み出した試験方法だったとは（石原式色覚異常検査表 - Wikipedia参照）。小学校のときの思い出として、この試験には記憶があります。

おお、確かにCUDOへの言及がある。というかこの本、何カ所か日本に関する言及ありますな。

言葉で表現するのは大事だけれど、分かりにくくてもね、という。実際、それってどういう色だかまるで見当つかない表現てありますよね。自分が無知だなけかもだけど。

たけんさんが言及してたところ。タッチデバイスではホバーが機能しないから、ますますリンク下線は消さないほうがいんじゃね？ってことですね。

普段使いがFirefoxなもので、Chrome ウェブストア - Accessibility Developer Toolsは初めて知りました。

このへんがサポートされるまではまだ時間がかかるのかなぁ。

さすがDerek、いいこと言ってます。

あと、本題とはまったく関係ないけれど、こういう比較的ニッチなテーマで割安な電子書籍って凄く魅力的だなと思ったし、時間と環境さえ許せば自分も執筆してみたいなと思いました。A Book Apartも同じ路線だけど、もっとコンパクトなのが良い。テーマと価格設定次第ではあるけど、大手の出版社の手が出しにくいテーマであれば、飲み代を稼ぐぐらいはできるんじゃないかな。勤務先の場合、副業禁止云々があったと思うので、微妙ですが。
